DevOps / Platform Engineer (AWS + Azure)

ABOUT THE ROLE

Platform engineering keeps our 50+ active client AWS + Azure accounts healthy, observable, and on-budget. You own the IaC patterns, deployment templates, and the cost / security / reliability story across the fleet. AI-paired tooling (Cursor + Anthropic) so review and refactoring scales.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  1. Design + maintain Terraform / CDK templates that cover ~80% of client infra needs (web + API + Postgres + observability).
  2. Own CI / CD: GitHub Actions templates, environment-promotion gates, secret-rotation automation.
  3. Run incident response on production issues across the fleet. Write blameless post-mortems that engineers actually read.
  4. Drive cost-optimization sweeps quarterly. Flag waste, right-size, recommend reserved-instance commits where they pay back.
  5. Own the security baseline: SOC 2 / ISO 27001 alignment, secret-scanning, dependency-vuln triage.

MUST-HAVES

  1. 8+ years operating production infra in AWS (must) and either Azure or GCP (one).
  2. Strong Terraform or AWS CDK fluency. Has authored modules used across 5+ projects.
  3. GitHub Actions or comparable CI fluency. Can read + debug a complex pipeline without printf-driven debugging.
  4. Has done incident response in production with paying customers. Knows what a real RCA looks like.

NICE TO HAVE

  1. SOC 2 Type II or ISO 27001 attestation experience as the engineering owner.
  2. Open-source contributions to Terraform providers / modules.
  3. FinOps certification or strong cost-optimization track record.
