REBUILD · TRACK B · LEGACY MODERNIZATION BUNDLE
For enterprise operators · 10–20 year old apps still generating revenue · escalating license + maintenance cost

ColdFusion + Oracle Forms + jQuery + IIS.
Retire the four legacy layers. One modern stack.

The typical late-2000s enterprise stack: ColdFusion or Classic ASP on IIS + Oracle Forms UI + jQuery/AngularJS spaghetti + Windows Server. Every year of maintenance + license + shrinking contractor pool now costs more than a rebuild. AI-paired throughput makes stack migration cheaper than another year of the status quo. One project. One contract. One modern stack.

What each of the four legacy layers costs

Four legacy layers. One modern stack.

Each legacy layer has a modern equivalent that’s cheaper to run and staffs itself. ColdFusion / Classic ASP become TypeScript on Node. Oracle Forms becomes a React/Next.js UI backed by Postgres. jQuery/AngularJS becomes typed React components. Windows Server + SQL Server becomes Postgres + Docker on Contabo. Same workflows, your data, modern stack.

LAYER 1 · APPLICATION

ColdFusion / Classic ASP → TypeScript + Node

Rebuild the application layer as TypeScript on Node with typed React components. AI-paired code migration: Claude cross-references the .cfm / .asp sources into the new specs.

Bundled engagement modernizes all 4 layers as one architecture — blue/green cutover done once, integration tests written once, data model migrated once. Sequential migration doubles the calendar time and integration surface.

One bundle vs. rolling migration

Why one bundle beats a rolling migration.

ROLLING MIGRATION
1 BUNDLED MODERNIZATION
Cost
~$120K total
4 sequential phases · each with re-plan overhead
$88K bundle
~27% saved vs rolling
Calendar time
~36 weeks
4 phases + 4 cutovers
14–18 weeks
parallel build, single cutover
Data migration
Multi-hop transformations across old + new during transition
Single delta-sync pipeline to Postgres — blue/green shadow reads
Existing integrations
SSO / SFTP / SOAP endpoints re-mocked per phase
Wrapper adapters built once — legacy endpoints preserved during migration window
User workflow
4 phases · users retrained 4 times · muscle-memory disruption
One new UI · one retraining · one cutover
Rollback risk
4 partial rollbacks possible during phased migration — stuck in mixed state
Single blue/green cutover · single rollback point · feature-flagged reads reduce risk

Rolling migrations often stall halfway — the org runs mixed old/new for years, paying maintenance on both. Bundle pricing forces the finish line to be scoped upfront.

Questions about a bundled legacy modernization

"What if…"

Can we sequence the migration?
Yes, but sequential rarely works — rolling migrations get stuck in mixed old/new state for years. If sequencing is a hard constraint, we typically start with the infrastructure layer (Windows Server → Docker) or the data layer (Oracle → Postgres) first, then move applications on top. Bundle pricing applies if the full stack commits within 6 months.
What’s the cutover playbook?
Blue/green: (1) new stack runs in parallel with the legacy app, (2) 3 weeks of read-only shadow where the new stack serves reads and the old stack still owns writes, with row-level parity checks running nightly, (3) write-flip on a chosen weekend once parity is 100%, (4) legacy stack kept warm as rollback for 4 weeks, (5) decommission. Zero-downtime data migration via nightly delta sync.
What if we’re on .NET Framework 4.x instead of ColdFusion?
Same architecture, same bundle price. We migrate whichever late-2000s stack you’re on: ColdFusion, Classic ASP, .NET Framework 4.x, Delphi/VB6, or PHP 5.x. AI-paired migration reads the source code and cross-references it into the new spec — the workflow doesn’t change based on the source language.
What about SSO / SFTP / SOAP integrations?
All preserved. We build wrapper adapters that expose the legacy endpoint shapes (SOAP endpoints, SFTP schedules, SSO SAML flows) on the new stack — upstream systems don’t know the app changed underneath. Adapters can be retired incrementally after the modernization ships.
What about compliance / audit requirements?
Compliance sign-off is baked into the plan — the new stack ships with immutable audit logs, granular RBAC, and encrypted-at-rest storage from day one. Insurance / healthcare / financial services engagements include compliance officer walkthroughs at weeks 8 and 16.
How do users adapt to the new UI?
The new UI is designed to preserve muscle memory from the legacy app — same tab order, same keyboard shortcuts, same field names. Users notice the app is faster and rarely notice the visual change. Retraining is 1–2 hours, not a training program.
Who owns everything?
You. Code in your GitHub. All four systems run in your AWS account. Sales data + recordings + sequences + customer data — all yours.

Why this number works: AI-paired senior engineers raise the floor on quality + consistency · 250+ products shipped · direct vendor billing — you keep the wrapper margin. → The full method
